Introduction of platform

About 2 / 3 of China's land area is a cold and dry area with the surface characteristics of glaciers, permafrost, deserts, deserts, salt lakes, oases, grasslands, etc. this area is not only a strategic area connecting China's inland and Central Asian countries, but also a backup base for our water resources, energy and mineral resources, as well as an extremely vulnerable area of ecological environment. It is also a battle for poverty alleviation, ecological civilization and Rural Revitalization in China The key area is omitted. The global climate change, the impact of human activities and the frequent occurrence of natural disasters pose a serious threat to the ecological security and major projects in the cold and dry areas of China, and become the bottleneck restricting the regional economic and social development. Therefore, it is necessary to systematically collect and manage the scientific data of glaciers, snow, frozen soil, salt lakes, deserts, deserts, Gobi, oases, wetlands and other disasters under the special environment of loess gullies, mountain slopes and other special environments, such as soil erosion, soil erosion, landslides, collapses, mudslides, floods and other disasters, and systematically collect and manage the life under the desert environment of the alpine plateau The scientific data of state restoration and major linear engineering construction research, and the systematic collection and management of social, economic and cultural related scientific data in the dry areas of cold regions play an important role in scientific research, ecological environment governance and restoration, major engineering construction, border stability and control, and sustainable development of national economy.

The National Cryosphere Desert Data Center (hereinafter referred to as NCDC) is supported by the Institute of environment and Engineering in the cold and dry areas of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, in cooperation with Xinjiang Institute of ecology and geography of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chengdu Institute of mountain land disaster and environment of the Ministry of water resources of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Qinghai Salt Lake Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Qinghai Gao of the Chinese Academy of Sciences The Institute of protobiology and other units were jointly established. The supporting units of glacier permafrost desert data center have formed a scientific research and support system of seven research laboratories and three research systems, highlighting the research characteristics of glacier, permafrost, desert, atmosphere, water and soil, ecology, environment, resources, engineering and sustainable development in the dry areas of cold regions. In the 35 years since the establishment of the first "Tianshan No.1 glacier material balance database" in 1985, a series of management standards, methods and systems for scientific data collection, management, sharing and application have been formed. Prior to other data management institutions, DOI has been introduced to protect the rights and interests of data authors, and has rich experience in scientific data management, open sharing and application support in related fields.

In terms of resource convergence , the resources of glacial and frozen desert scientific data center cover the field observation, investigation, experiment, test analysis, numerical simulation, multi-source remote sensing of three plateaus (Qinghai Tibet, Mongolia Xinjiang and loess) in China's cold and dry regions, three cross-border rivers, four inland river basins, three corridors, four basins, eight deserts, four deserts, 11 salt lakes and key linear projects There are 10 data sources, such as sense, project collection, project construction, exchange image, processing and production, with a total data volume of 112tb, aggregating more than 60% of the scientific data in the research field of cold and dry areas in China, 80% of which are owned by the supporting units. At the same time, the glacier permafrost desert scientific data center also collected 243 typical research model resources, several analysis algorithms and software analysis tools, forming a model resource pool for scientific research in the cold and dry areas. The collected scientific data and model resources have distinctive disciplinary characteristics, outstanding regional characteristics and obvious regional advantages. The data collection is supervised by the data supervision committee of the supporting unit, which ensures the continuity of data center resource construction and the rights and interests of data authors.

in terms of capacity building , the glacier frozen desert data center has formulated 26 operation service management systems and standards, involving data management, open sharing services, center operation management and other aspects. There are 1000 square meters of workplaces, 3000 square meters of supporting sites, 2PB of storage environment and 300tflops of supercomputing simulation and analysis environment, forming an integrated data management and application environment of data, model, calculation, storage and visualization, forming a response for data center data management, field station data management and major project data management With the system, it has formed technical service capabilities such as data collection and transmission, standardized processing, special data preparation, data collection and delivery of major projects, and formed a continuous data resource construction guarantee system by combining 47 field stations of 31 Institutions. The center has formed a fixed working team of 64 people, including 20 full-time staff. An expert group composed of 6 academicians and 24 researchers was set up to guide the data center to carry out various work.

*in sharing services , the center has 33977 registered users, 55tb of online data, 57tb of offline data, 243 model resources. It has provided 248tb of offline data and model services for more than 460 universities, enterprises, and government agencies with 6809 off-line and 78684 on-line data and model services, supporting nearly 50000 master's and doctoral papers, and more than 2000 cited or acknowledged papers. It has supported research on glaciers, snow, frozen soil, deserts, hydrology, inland rivers and cold and dry areas. Its achievements have won 2 national special prizes, 7 national second prizes and 1 national innovation team prize. At the same time of serving major research projects such as Baolan railway, Qinghai Tibet railway and Heihe River, in recent years, it has carried out basic data and scientific decision-making for "Chongqing Kunming high speed railway line selection", provided special data services for "disaster mechanism research and observation early warning of China Pakistan Economic Corridor" and "soil and water conservation and control in the upper and middle reaches of the Yellow River", and also provided special data services for "Chongqing Kunming high speed railway line selection"
