This data set is the automatic observation data of meteorological (air temperature, relative humidity and wind speed) and soil water- heat (0 and 10 cm temperature and water content) elements of alpine meadow observation site in the upper reaches of Shule River of Qilian Mountain in Hexi Corridor of Gansu Province from January 1, 2013 to December 31, 2015. The time resolution of the data is 1 day. When the instrument fails, there is no recorded data in a certain period of time. The data is collected by CR1000 data collector (Campbell) and copied manually on a regular basis. The accuracy of the original data of air temperature, wind speed and soil temperature is two decimal places, and that of air relative humidity and soil moisture is three decimal places.

The air temperature and relative humidity were measured by HMP155A temperature and humidity sensor (Vaisala), wind speed was measured by 034b wind speed and direction indicator (MetOne), and soil temperature and water content were measured by Hydra probe II soil sensor (Stevens).
All sensors are connected to the CR1000 data collector (Campbell) and copied to the computer with a dedicated digital acquisition card.
Data were collected by CR1000 data collector (Campbell) and manually copied regularly. The accuracy of the original data of air temperature, wind speed and soil temperature is two decimal places, and that of air relative humidity and soil moisture is three decimal places. The data processing method is to delete the abnormal value and error value, and to use the data of surrounding sample plots and different soil layers to interpolate the missing values. The accuracy after processing is unified to retain two decimal places.
