TY - Data T1 - SPEI Drought Index Dataset for Xinjiang Region from 1961 to 2015 A1 - Yao Junqiang A1 - Mao weifeng DO - 10.12072/ncdc.IDM.db0003.2020 PY - 2020 DA - 2020-12-07 PB - National Cryosphere Desert Data Center AB - Xinjiang is located in the arid region of Central Asia with complex terrain, fragile ecological environment and low ability to resist disasters. It is a sensitive area and a strong impact area of global warming. With the global warming, the problem of aridity in Xinjiang has attracted extensive attention. Based on the daily temperature and precipitation observation data of 55 meteorological stations in Xinjiang, China from 1961 to 2015, after data quality control and outliers elimination, the time series of monthly standardized precipitation evapotranspiration index (spei) of each station from 1961 to 2015 in 1, 3, 6, 12, 24 and 48 months were calculated, and the Xinjiang drought index data set was sorted out. This data set provides data support for analyzing the drought change trend and change characteristics in different time scales in Xinjiang region, and can also be used as basic data to explore the impact of drought events on Ecological hydrological environment and agricultural and animal husbandry production.
