The Baishuihe landslide is located on the south bank of the Yangtze River, 56km away from the Three Gorges Dam site, and belongs to Baishuihe Village, Shazhenxi Town. Geographic coordinates X: 3433805, Y: 455980, longitude 110 ° 32'09 ", latitude 31 ° 01'34". The landslide body is located in a wide valley section of the Yangtze River, with a monoclinic bedding slope, high in the south and low in the north, spreading in a stepped pattern towards the Yangtze River. The elevation of the rear edge is 410m, bounded by the boundary between rock and soil. The front edge reaches below the water level of 135m in the Yangtze River, and the eastern and western sides are bounded by bedrock ridges. The overall slope is about 30 °.
