It also takes into account the adjacent areas of Mazong Mountain, the western part of Qilian Mountains, and the central arid area of Gansu. From 2017 to 2021, the shrub desert, semi shrub short semi shrub desert, short semi tree desert, and juicy halophytic short semi shrub desert distributed in these areas were investigated Annual herbaceous desert and other vegetation types. The main vegetation formations surveyed include: Haloxylon ammodendron desert, Bawang desert, Salt Claw claw desert, Short tongued Chrysanthemum desert, Salsola deserts, Red sand desert, White thorn desert, Tamarix desert, etc.The survey area is divided into two main areas, including 280 survey points on the Alxa Plateau and 184 survey points in the desert area of the Hexi Corridor. This dataset includes three parts: survey site photos, drone photos, and soil profile photos. Taking all desert plant communities in the survey area as the object, digital cameras were used to capture the horizontal distribution and habitat characteristics of plant communities, as well as shrubs and herbaceous samples. 3463 habitat photos and 453 soil profile photos were obtained. At the same time, in order to objectively reflect the vertical structure of the desert plant community in the area, unmanned aerial vehicles were used to vertically photograph the community at heights of 10 m, 30 m, 50 m, 70 m, 90 m, and 110 m above the ground, in order to facilitate the division of plant community boundaries and the study of spatial distribution characteristics of plant populations. Except for the military control zone and no fly zone, a total of 2361 drone photos were obtained.
