The thickness of the mucky soil (including 1 layer of silt, 2 layers of silt, 3 layers of mucky soil and 2-4 layers of silt) below the tunnel trough bottom of the west island slope section is 3-18m thicker than that of the immersed tube tunnel of the Hong Kong Zhuhai Macao Bridge. Affected by sand mining disturbance, the strength of the original vane of the first layer of silt is only 4.3~8.4kPa, which is a kind of fluid sludge. The maximum thickness of 1 layer of silt below the excavation line of E1 pipe joint foundation trench is 5m. The surface mud at the bottom of the trench needs to be removed, and the mud at both sides of the foundation trench also needs to prevent it from flowing into the foundation trench to ensure that the foundation trench can be formed. At the same time, the slope section of the West Island is located within the scope of the sand excavation pit. From the comparison between the detailed survey and the preliminary survey, the stratum in the sand excavation pit is still changing from 2015 to 2017. The influence of sludge and sand excavation pit on the layout of DCM piles must be considered.
