Shuping landslide is located in group 1, Shuping village, Shazhenxi Town, Zigui County, Hubei Province, the South Bank of the Yangtze River. It is about 47km away from the dam site of the Three Gorges Project. Its geographic coordinates are longitude 110 ° 37 ′ 0 ″, and latitude 30 ° 59 ′ 37 ″. The deformation monitoring of the slide is mainly based on GPS surface displacement monitoring and macro geological inspection. At the initial stage of monitoring, six GPS deformation monitoring points and one GPS monitoring base point are arranged around Shuping landslide. The deformation monitoring points are arranged in two longitudinal and three transverse directions, which can basically monitor the deformation of the whole landslide.
