The aim of this study is to evaluate the impact of climate change and increasing CO2 concentrations on carbon storage in the arid and semi-arid regions of northern China, providing a scientific basis for understanding the carbon cycle of ecosystems in northern China and developing corresponding ecological protection strategies.
