At latitude above 30 degrees, some pixels may have multiple observations that meet the clear sky standard. When this happens, the pixel value is the average of all observations that meet the conditions. Along with daytime and nighttime surface temperature zones and their quality indicator layers, MODIS 31 and 32 zones and six observation layers are also provided.\n<p><p>  The MOD11A2/MYD11A2 V6.1 product provides an 8-day average land surface temperature (LST) within a 1200 x 1200 km grid. Each pixel value in MOD11A2 is a simple average of all corresponding MOD11A1 LST pixels collected in the 8 days. The 8-day synthesis period is chosen because it is twice as long as the ground orbit repetition period of Terra and Aqua platforms. In this product, in addition to the daytime and nighttime surface temperature zones and their quality indicator (QC) layers, there are also 31 and 32 zones of MODIS and eight observation layers.\n<p><p>  The spatial resolution is 1000m. MOD11A1/MYD11A1 data are daily products, and MOD11A2/MYD11A2 data are 8-day products.</p></p></p></p></p>",
