TY - Data T1 - Karakoram Non-Debris-Covered Glacier Area Dataset (2021) A1 - la ba zhuo ma DO - 10.12072/ncdc.glacier.db7433.2026 PY - 2026 DA - 2026-06-01 PB - National Cryosphere Desert Data Center AB - The research area of this dataset is located in the Karakoram Mountains, and the data time range is 2021. The selected remote sensing images are all clear and have less cloud cover. Google high-definition images were combined during the sample screening process, and parameters such as moraine coverage on the ice surface and glacier shape were fully considered to ensure the representativeness and scientific nature of the data. In terms of spatial distribution, the samples cover the main sub-basins of the Karakoram Mountains, and glaciers are generally surrounded by glacial lakes. Therefore, the glacier change results obtained help improve the accuracy of glacial lake burst risk prediction and ensure geographical representation. In addition, the data also covers different climatic areas dominated by the westerly circulation and influenced by the Indian monsoon edge. The dataset contains vector format files (Shapefiles) of 54 glaciers and an Excel sheet. The 54 glacier Shapefiles are divided into three categories based on their area: 31 glaciers smaller than or equal to 10 square kilometers (UN10_Glacier_2021), 18 glaciers larger than 10 and smaller than 50 square kilometers (UN10_UP50_Glacier_2021), and 5 glaciers larger than or equal to 50 square kilometers (UP50_Glacier_2021). Each vector file contains a total of 11 attribute information, including "FID","RGIID","GLIMSID","Cen_Lon","Cen_Lat","01Region","02Region","Shape_Area","Shape_Per","Glc_Name", and "Compiler". The Excel sheet records data source remote sensing image information, glacier area and its uncertainty. The data projection method adopts Asia North Albers Equal Area Conic projection, with a central latitude and longitude of 105°, and the first and second standard latitudes of 25° and 47° respectively. The research results show that the glacier area is between 1 and 182 square kilometers, and the area uncertainty is controlled between ±0.00 and ±0.09 square kilometers, indicating that the data obtained i DB - NCDC UR - http://www.ncdc.ac.cn/portal/metadata/0a0f7341-ee6b-4b64-badb-71874fd17154 ER -
