It records the plant community composition, community structure, biomass and the content of different organs of dominant plants in the comprehensive desert observation site and auxiliary observation site. Data observation years include 2010, 2015, 2020, 2023, 2024 and 2025, and include a total of 3 worksheets and 570 records. Among them, the shrub layer species composition data of the plant community includes plant species name, plant cluster number, average stem number in a single cluster, base diameter, height, crown width, coverage, phenological period, and aboveground and underground dry weights; the shrub layer community characteristic data includes dominant species, plant species, community density, dominant species height, community coverage, aboveground and underground biomass, and litter dry weight; Data on dominant plant element content include total carbon, total nitrogen, total phosphorus, total potassium, total sulfur, total calcium, total iron, total magnesium, dry calorific value and ash content of different organs of plants. This dataset can be used to analyze long-term changes in desert plant community structure, productivity, species composition and plant nutrient characteristics in extreme arid areas. This dataset is stored in Excel format and contains three worksheets: "da02","da04" and "da13", with a total of 570 observation records."da02" is the type composition data of shrub layers in desert plant communities, with a total of 152 records and 26 fields. The observation years include 2010, 2015, 2020, 2023, 2024 and 2025. The main fields include ecological station and plot code, observation date, plot number, plot area, Chinese and Latin names of plants, number of plants, average number of stems in a single cluster, average base diameter, average height, average crown width, coverage, life form, phenological period, dry w
