This dataset contains the vertical trawl plankton data from the 19th Antarctic Expedition in China from 2002 to 2003 in Prydz Bay. Planktonic animals are a group of heterotrophic invertebrates and juvenile chordates that often float in water and cannot produce organic matter on their own. They are a group of animals that live planktonic in water. Due to the correlation between the distribution of planktonic animals and climate, they can also be used as indicator animals for warm and cold currents.
