AB  - This dataset comprises biological monitoring data collected from 2005 to 2022 in the desert ecosystem in the middlestream of the Heihe River Basin. The observation plot is located in Linze County, Zhangye City, covering an area of 100 m × 100 m, with its center at 100°07′09″E, 39°24′52″N and an elevation of 1,382 m above sea level. The site is fully fenced and protected from grazing, with a 50-meter peripheral buffer zone designated for destructive sampling. Biological monitoring primarily includes species composition of the shrub layer and herbaceous layer, community characteristics (e.g., cover, density, height, and biomass) of both shrub and herbaceous layers, and changes in the spatial distribution patterns of plant communities.
