TY - Data T1 - Dataset of Aboveground and Belowground Plant Traits, Soil Physicochemical Properties, and Community Structure in Egyptian Desert Ecosystems (2024–2025) A1 - Erola Fenollosa DO - 10.12072/ncdc.db7768.2026 PY - 2026 DA - 2026-09-03 PB - National Cryosphere Desert Data Center AB - This dataset contains data on above-ground and underground plant functional properties, soil physical and chemical properties and plant community structure in typical desert ecosystems in Egypt from 2024 to 2025, with a total of 36 sample records. The data mainly includes three parts: (1) Plant characteristic data, including root diameter, root length, root nitrogen and phosphorus content, proline content, stomatal shape and density, chlorophyll, carotenoid, leaf and mesophyll thickness, leaf area, leaf nitrogen and phosphorus content, etc.;(2) Soil physical and chemical properties, including pH, electrical conductivity, total dissolved solids, soil water content, organic matter, CaCO, Ca², Mg², Na, K, soil mechanical composition, and SOC, TN and TP;(3) Plant community structure, including species richness, Shannon-Wiener diversity index, Pielou evenness index and above-ground net primary productivity (ANPP). The data also records the sampling year, region, treatment, and latitude and longitude of the sample site, and can be used to analyze the relationship between plant functional characteristics, soil environment and community structure under different desert environmental conditions. This dataset contains data on above-ground and underground plant functional properties, soil physical and chemical properties and plant community structure in typical desert ecosystems in Egypt from 2024 to 2025, with a total of 36 sample records.
