AB  - Snow disasters in the pastoral areas of the Qinghai Tibet Plateau are one of the important factors that plague and restrict the production of high-altitude animal husbandry. So far, a comprehensive and systematic investigation of snow disaster background data in pastoral areas and the establishment of a database have not been carried out. In response to this issue, a thematic map of snow disaster risk in the pastoral areas of the Qinghai Tibet Plateau was created using ground surveys and remote sensing monitoring datasets from the first and second projects of the "China Snow Characteristics Distribution and Investigation" project, which investigated the characteristics and distribution of snow cover. The map characterizes the overall average risk of disaster factors (snow disasters) in the Qinghai Tibet Plateau from 1985 to 2020. This achievement will be open and shared through a shared database platform, and will play an important role in various aspects such as agricultural and animal husbandry production, snow disasters in pastoral areas, etc.The dataset mainly consists of three folders:(1) Image: Special thematic map of snow disaster risk in pastoral areas of the Qinghai Tibet Plateau, in JPG format;(2) Mapping data: stores the hazard distribution raster data used to create thematic maps, in geotif format;(3) Auxiliary mapping data: used to store provincial boundaries and the boundaries of the Qinghai Tibet Plateau.
