AB  - This dataset comprises soil monitoring data collected from 2005 to 2022 in the desert ecosystem located in the middlestream of the Heihe River Basin. The observation site is situated in Linze County, Zhangye City. It covers an area of 100 m × 100 m, with its center coordinates at 100°07′09″E, 39°24′52″N and an elevation of 1,382 m above sea level. The plot is fully fenced and protected from grazing, with a 50-meter peripheral buffer zone designated for destructive sampling.Monitored soil parameters include cation exchange capacity (CEC), soil nutrients, total mineral content, trace elements, heavy metals, and available (plant-accessible) trace elements. The primary objective of this long-term monitoring program is to understand the temporal trends and underlying patterns of changes in desert soil composition, structure, and key ecological processes under natural conditions.
