The observed elements include kaolinite content, chlorite content, illite content, illite/montmorillonite interlayer, interlayer ratio, etc. The data resources were collected from September 20, 2017 to March 20, 2018, using an X-ray diffraction system to measure the clay mineral composition of Mohe permafrost and Dongying permafrost. A total of 20 indoor experiments were conducted, and the experimental dataset was fully open and shared.
