TY - Data T1 - Dataset of Root Traits of Desert Plants under Drought Treatments in the Fukang Desert Region (2024-2025) A1 - Zhang Bo DO - 10.12072/ncdc.db7762.2026 PY - 2026 DA - 2026-09-03 PB - National Cryosphere Desert Data Center AB - This dataset collects data on the root functional characteristics of desert plants under drought treatment in the Fukang desert area of Xinjiang from 2024 to 2025, aiming to reveal the strategies for obtaining underground resources and root adaptation characteristics of desert plants under the conditions of reduced precipitation. The experiment set up natural precipitation control (CK) and drought treatment (Dro) with a 50% reduction in precipitation. Surveys and sampling were carried out from April 15 to May 15 every year, and a 1m × 1m quadrat was set up. The data set contains a total of 96 observation records. The main indicators include maximum root depth, total root length per plant, average root diameter, root surface area, root volume, specific root length and root nitrogen and phosphorus ratio, etc., and record the year, treatment, repeat block and sample plot latitude and longitude information. This dataset can provide basic data support for studying changes in root functional characteristics of desert plants under drought conditions, strategies for obtaining underground resources, and adaptation mechanisms of desert plants to precipitation changes. This dataset contains data on root functional characteristics of desert plants under different drought treatments in the Fukang Desert Area of Xinjiang from 2024 to 2025, with a total of 96 observation records. The data includes information such as year, plot, precipitation treatment, duplicate blocks and root characteristics. The main indicators include maximum root depth (MRD), total root length per plant (RL), average root diameter (RD), root surface area (RSA), root volume (RV), specific root length (SRL) and root nitrogen and phosphorus ratio (N:P), etc., and latitude and longitude information of various sites were also recorded. This dataset can be used to analyze the root morphology of desert plants, resource acquisition strategies and the adaptation characteristics of underground parts to drought stress u DB - NCDC UR - http://www.ncdc.ac.cn/portal/metadata/94e4822d-3f83-4b19-ab87-f8a865d32008 ER -
