A total of 72 observation records are included. The data content includes environmental factors such as latitude and longitude, altitude, annual average temperature, annual precipitation and annual potential evapotranspiration at the sampling point, as well as leaf carbon, nitrogen, and phosphorus content, leaf nitrogen and phosphorus ratio, leaf area, leaf dry mass, leaf mass area (LMA), maximum net photosynthetic rate, quality benchmark photosynthetic rate, dark respiration rate and phosphorus use efficiency and other plant functional characteristics. This dataset can be used to analyze interspecific and spatial variations in leaf functional characteristics of desert plants in different arid environments, discuss desert plants 'carbon acquisition, nutrient utilization and their adaptation strategies to environmental gradients, and provide basic data for plant functional ecology and plant nutrient utilization in arid areas. Utilization strategies and desert ecosystems adapt to global changes. This dataset contains environmental background information and leaf functional character data of four desert plants in three typical arid areas of Turpan, Cele and Mosuo Bay in Xinjiang. Environmental data mainly includes latitude (Latitude), longitude (Longitude), annual mean temperature (Annual Temp), annual precipitation (Annual Precip), annual potential evapotranspiration (Annual PET) and altitude (Elevation). Plant leaf property data includes leaf total carbon content (Total C), total nitrogen content (Total N), mass benchmark nitrogen content (Nmass), area benchmark nitrogen content (Narea), total phosphorus content (Total P), mass benchmark phosphorus content (Pmass), area benchmark phosphorus content (Parea),
