The test set up natural precipitation control (CK) and drought treatment (Dro) with a 50% reduction in precipitation. Field surveys and sample collection were carried out from April 15 to May 15 every year. A 1 m × 1 m sample square was set up in the test area to collect mature, complete and healthy plant leaves. The data set contains a total of 96 observation records. The main indicators include single leaf area, leaf thickness, stomatal size, stomatal density, cuticle thickness, leaf dry matter content, chlorophyll content and proline content, etc., and record the year, treatment, repeat block and sample site latitude and longitude information. This dataset can provide basic data support for clarifying the functional response of desert plants to precipitation reduction, drought adaptation mechanisms, and the response of arid area vegetation to climate change.This dataset contains data on leaf functional characteristics of desert plants under different precipitation treatments from 2024 to 2025, with a total of 96 observation records.
