TY - Data T1 - A dataset of spatial-temporal variation of 9 Mother's Lakes water area during 1984-2024 A1 - Cao Yin DO - 10.57760/sciencedb.13319 PY - 2025 DA - 2025-03-28 PB - National Cryosphere Desert Data Center AB - Lakes, as key freshwater resource reservoirs and ecological cores, play an irreplaceable role in ensuring regional water supply, maintaining ecological security, and promoting socio-economic and cultural development. However, under the dual pressures of climate change and human activities, numerous lakes around the world are facing significant threats of shrinkage. This study focuses on the nine key protected lakes designated by the Chinese Ministry of Water Resources' "Mother River (Lake) Revitalization Action (2022-2025)". Through multi-source remote sensing data fusion analysis (Landsat-5 TM, Landsat-8/9 OLI, and Sentinel-2 MSI), the system reconstructed the temporal water surface area change trajectory over a 40 year period from 1984 to 2023, and completed a total of 4791 effective monitoring periods. After strict verification, the overall classification accuracy of the dataset reached 94.7%, with a Kappa coefficient of 0.86, providing a high-precision, long-term quantitative scientific basis for the effectiveness evaluation of the Mother Lake ecological restoration project.
