On March 16, 2023, the Qilian Mountain Water and Culvert Institute and the National Glacial Permafrost Desert Science Data Center held the launching ceremony of the joint construction of the Qilian Mountain Scientific Data Center in Gansu Province. The two sides will strengthen the sharing of data resources and the optimal allocation of instruments and equipment, give full play to the advantages of long-term observation data of the Qilian Mountain Culvert Institute for 45 years, and promote the joint service and innovative application of scientific data in the construction of Qilian Mountain National Park.

In the past two years, the two sides have established a new cooperation mechanism in terms of jointly building data centers, joint scientific research, sharing data resources, exchanging innovative achievements, and cooperating in cultivating talents, focusing on the new national ecological construction strategy and the new needs of the pilot construction of the Qilian Mountains National Park system. In terms of scientific research, the two sides will jointly apply for projects and exchange training on key technologies and problems such as governance and restoration in the process of ecological protection in the Qilian Mountains, so as to further form a synergy for the efficient use of scientific data and scientific and technological innovation.
