The Great Wall Station was built on February 20, 1985, located in King George Island, South Shetland Islands; The geographical coordinates are: 62 degrees 12 minutes south latitude and 58 degrees 57 minutes west longitude. South Pole Wall Station in the Antarctic is the first scientific research station established by China in the Antarctic. A perennial scientific research station set up in Antarctic by China for scientific investigation in the Antarctic region. It is located on the Fildes Peninsula in the west of King George Island in the South Shetland Islands, Antarctica, and faces the Great Wall Bay in Maxwell Bay in the east. The bay is wide and deep, easy to access, backed by the slopes with snow all the year round, and has sufficient water resources.
