  According to China Earthquake Networks: A powerful 7.0 earthquake occurred in Morocco at 23:11 local time on September 8, 2023. The epicenter was 31.00 degrees north latitude and 8.55 degrees west longitude, The epicenter was located about 71 kilometers southwest of the southern city of Marrakech in Morocco, with a focal depth of 8 kilometers.

  The Moroccan Ministry of the Interior has released the latest data, stating that as of the 10th local time, the number of fatalities has risen to 2122, and the number of injured has reached 2421, of which 1404 are seriously injured. 1293 people died in the province where the epicenter was located, followed by Taruda province with 452 deaths.
