The "China Pakistan Economic Corridor" covers the whole country of Pakistan and the Kashgar region of Xinjiang, China and its surrounding areas. It starts in Kashgar, Xinjiang, China, and ends at Gwadar Port, Pakistan, with a total length of 3000 km. It connects the "Silk Road Economic Belt" to the north and the "21st Century Maritime Silk Road" to the south. It is a key hub connecting the North and South Silk Road, a trade corridor including roads, railways, oil and gas and optical cable channels, and an important part of the "the Belt and Road" initiative. It will have a significant impact on the economic and social development of China and Pakistan, and play a demonstration and promotion role in the implementation of the "the Belt and Road".
