The aurora all Sky TV camera is mainly used to monitor the aurora shape and relative change intensity within 180 degrees of the whole sky. It is mainly composed of outdoor TV camera and indoor main control box, time-based generator, time-based corrector, two VHS VCRs, one SVHS VCR, teac VCR and monitor. According to the scientific cooperation agreement between the polar regions of China and Japan, the data record is made in duplicate and shared by both parties. This data set is the aurora all Sky TV camera data of Zhongshan station, Antarctica, China in 2001.

This instrument is an optical observation project. The observation environment is sometimes interfered by the station lights, weather conditions and moonlight, and the data quality is high. The data record of the observation instrument is made in duplicate. According to the scientific cooperation agreement signed by polar research institutes of China and Japan, China and Japan keep one copy respectively.
