In order to comprehensively promote the high-quality development of the Gansu Province Scientific Data Center system, clarify the key work directions in 2026, and build consensus on the collaborative development of data, on February 4, 2026, the Gansu Province Scientific Data Center 2026 Annual Exchange Meeting was held at the Northwest Ecological Environment Resources Research Institute of the China Academy of Sciences. From Gansu Province Ecological Environment Science Data Center, Gansu Province Climate Change Science Data Center, Gansu Province Drought Meteorological Data Center, Gansu Province Natural Disaster Science Data Center, Gansu Province Science and Technology Evaluation Science Data Center, Gansu Province Agricultural Germplasm Resources Science Data Center, Gansu Provincial Traditional Chinese Medicine Science Data Center, Gansu Province Medical Imaging Science Data Center, Gansu Province Experimental Animal Science Data Center, Gansu Province Cultural Heritage Science Data Center, There are 11 scientific data centers in the Bamboo Slips Scientific Data Center of Gansu Province, and resource point construction units such as Lanzhou University of Arts and Sciences and Gansu Qilian Mountain Water Conservation Research Institute participated.

This meeting was chaired by Kang Jianfang, head of the General Scientific Data Center of Gansu Province, and introduced the current development trend of provincial scientific data centers in China. Gansu Province started the construction of scientific data centers in 2019 and is also the earliest province in the country to start the construction of scientific data systems. It will continue to rely on high-quality data sets and open sharing concepts to accelerate the release of the value of scientific data resources and help Gansu seize the commanding heights of data innovation in the process of my country's modernization. The meeting invited researcher Zhang Yaonan to give a keynote report entitled "Exploration and Thinking on Data Centers Supporting AI4S", explaining the development trend of artificial intelligence AI4S, the practice of AI enhancing data center capabilities, and the practice and thinking on data centers supporting AI4S, providing scientific data center transformation for our province. Provide new ideas; Senior engineer Li Hongxing provided special training on "Writing and Analysis of Scientific Data Papers", and provided detailed explanations on the writing specifications, core points, and submission skills of scientific data papers, helping each center improve its ability to transform high-quality data products and scientific research results.

During the discussion session, participants held in-depth discussions and exchanges on five topics, focusing on the deployment and interconnection of provincial scientific data center websites, data resource catalogs and metadata release and sharing, and the design and compilation of publicity materials for the scientific data center system of Gansu Province., the establishment of a fixed contact person mechanism for the data center, and the thinking on data empowerment. Everyone unanimously discussed that in the future, we will focus on the 2026 Gansu Province government work report, focusing on four aspects: the construction of agricultural science and technology support system, the country's western ecological security barrier, the construction of a strong cultural and tourism province, and the disaster Incident Response Service. Through efficient collaboration and improvement of the coordination mechanism of all parties, data will drive the development path of technology and industry integration to form a good demonstration scenario application.
