Recently, the special observation data provided by the National Field Scientific Observation and Research Station of Geological Disasters in Badong, Hubei Province was officially released at the National Glacier, Frozen Soil and Desert Scientific Data Center. Scientific researchers are welcome to download and use it.

Hubei Badong National Field Scientific Observation and Research Station for Geological Disasters (referred to as the National Observation and Research Station for Geohazards of Badong, Hubei) Relying on the construction of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan), project construction started in Badong County, Hubei Province in 2009. In 2012, comprehensive observation stations including Badong Large-scale Field Comprehensive Experimental Site, Zigui Majiagou Geological Disaster Prevention and Control Field Experimental Site and other observation bases were built. In 2019, it was approved by the Ministry of Education's Field Scientific Observation and Research Station and the Hubei Province Field Scientific Observation and Research Station. In 2020, it was approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology to enter the National Field Scientific Observation and Research Station Sequence. The observation system of Hubei Badong National Geological Disaster Field Station is mainly based on the Badong Large-scale Field Comprehensive Test Site, including the Zigui Majiagou Field Test Site, the Geological Disaster Geophysical Monitoring Station and mobile monitoring points covering the entire territory of the Three Gorges Reservoir Area. Comprehensive field observation of geological disasters and field scientific research on geological disasters under reservoir operating conditions. Among them, the Badong large-scale field comprehensive test site conducts scientific observations of geological disasters by excavating tunnel groups in geological bodies, creating a new research model in the field of geological disasters at home and abroad.

Hubei Badong National Field Station for Geological Disasters is based on the Badong County Field Comprehensive Test Site and radiates the entire Three Gorges Reservoir Area to systematically collect and manage the four-in-one monitoring data of the sky, air, ground and underground. The observation contents include meteorological observation of geological disasters, deformation and destruction observation, hydrological process observation, human activity observation, interaction monitoring, geophysical monitoring and geological background, etc., totaling 7 categories, 34 types, 160 fixed monitoring points and dozens of non-fixed monitoring points. The obtained scientific observation data are widely used in geological disaster teaching, scientific research, disaster prediction, early warning, and prevention and control.
