The National Glacier, Permafrost and Desert Scientific Data Center (hereinafter referred to as the Center) is a national-level scientific and technological innovation platform base. It is one of the first 20 national scientific data centers recognized by the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Finance in 2019. Relying on the Northwest Ecological Environment Resources Research Institute of China Academy of Sciences, it systematically carries out the aggregation, preservation, management, analysis and mining of scientific data around key elements of cold and arid areas such as global glaciers, frozen soil, deserts and disasters and their areas of action. Build a theoretical and technical system of scientific data governance and data engineering, develop high-quality databases and data products, improve the efficiency of data resource use, and provide high-quality data services for scientific and technological progress and social development in cold and arid areas.

According to the 2026 recruitment notice of the Northwest Institute of Ecology, Environmental Resources, China Academy of Sciences (the first batch), the National Glacier, Frozen Soil and Desert Scientific Data Center is now recruiting two scientific research positions and one technical support position.

1. Basic conditions

1. Observe disciplines and laws, have both ability and political integrity, endure hardships and work hard, be proactive, have a good sense of collective and discipline, and be physically and mentally healthy.

2. Scientific research positionsshould have postdoctoral or special research assistant experience for at least one employment period (complete outbound procedures or complete one employment period before June 30, 2026). At the undergraduate stage, full-time students are recruited and have obtained a bachelor's degree, have a doctoral degree, and hold the corresponding academic degree certificate when registering. The undergraduate stageof technical support positionsis full-time recruited students who have obtained a bachelor's degree, with a master's degree or above, and hold the corresponding academic degree certificate when registering.

3. Scientific research positionsshould have a solid professional foundation, excellent academic performance, and meet one of the following conditions: the first author publishes 3 or more papers in internationally influential academic journals; the first inventor authorizes 3 invention patents and above; the top 5 first prize in provincial and ministerial science and technology awards; other high-level achievements. (Obtained the Youth Fund Project of the National Foundation of China, the special funded project of the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation, and the invention patent authorized by the first inventor can be reduced by one paper published in an important international academic journal.)

An employment avoidance system is implemented, and application applications from those who have a husband-wife relationship, direct blood relationship, collateral blood relationship within three generations, or close marriage relationship with Northwestern Research Institute employees will not be accepted.

6. Have a certain understanding of scientific research and career development, are interested in natural environment exploration and scientific exploration, and can participate in field inspections and field experiments.

2. Job benefits

Scientific research positionswill be included in the business establishment management after reporting;technical support positions will be hired and managed according to the project after reporting. After passing the assessment after completing the three-year employment period, they can apply for inclusion in the business establishment management. After passing the inspection, the wages and benefits will be implemented in accordance with the relevant regulations of China Academy of Sciences and Northwest Research Institute, and various social insurances and housing provident funds will be paid to employees.
