King George Island is the largest island in the South Shetland Islands. It is located at 62 ° 23 'S, 58 ° 27' W, 120 km away from the sea. This data set is the polluted heavy metals in the topsoil of King George Island, Antarctica. The original meaning of heavy metals refers to metals with a specific gravity greater than 5 (metals with a density greater than 4.5 grams per cubic centimeter), including gold, silver, copper, iron, lead, etc. Heavy metal pollution is different from the pollution of other organic compounds. Many organic compounds can be purified through physical, chemical, or biological processes in nature to reduce or eliminate their harmful effects. Heavy metals have enrichment properties and are difficult to degrade in the environment
