According to China Earthquake Networks: An earthquake of magnitude 7.4 occurred in the Philippine Islands region, at 09:43 on October 10, 2025, with a focal depth of 50 kilometers. The Philippine Islands lie within the world's most active seismic belt, the Pacific Ring of Fire. This earthquake triggered a local tsunami near its epicenter. As of now, the quake has claimed three lives.
