According to China Earthquake Networks: An earthquake of magnitude 6.0 occurred in Mongolia at 12:23 on April 26, 2026, with a focal depth of 15 kilometers. The epicenter was located at 46.85°N, 93.15°E, approximately 160 kilometers from China’s border. Tremors were felt in Urumqi, Xinjiang, and Qinghe County in the Altay Prefecture. The average elevation within 5 kilometers of the epicenter is about 2,888 meters. Within 300 kilometers of the epicenter, there are five large and medium-sized cities, the nearest being Hovd, about 172 kilometers away. As of now, no casualties or property damage have been reported.
