This data set is the runoff and sediment observation data of Jiuyuangou River Basin from 1964 to 1979. Through the water level observation and sediment sampling of runoff station section, the runoff and sediment amount during runoff generation are calculated. The data set includes the measured discharge results table, flood hydrological elements extraction table, successive flood test results table, daily average discharge table, daily average sediment concentration table and daily average sediment transport rate table of Jiuyuangou watershed.

Artificial timing observation
1. The water level observation method of runoff station is as follows: read the water gauge number of the flow measurement structure on the flow measurement section, and observe once a day at 8:00 in non flood season; observe twice at 8:00 and 20:00 when the daily water level changes slowly in case of rainfall; and observe four times at 2:00, 8:00, 14:00 and 20:00 when the daily water level changes greatly or appears slow peak and valley. When the water level changes violently in flood season, the observation shall be made in multiples of 6 minutes. 2. The flow measurement mode of the ditch diameter flow station: the flow is measured by the delta channel when the water level is flat; when the water level is higher than the delta channel, the flow measurement is conducted by the buoy method in the rectangular spillway, and the buoy coefficient is the buoy test results of huangweizizhou runoff test station. 3. The flow measurement method of wangmaozhuang runoff station: the calibrated natural section observation by manual arrangement is adopted, and the calibrated flow formula is used for flow calculation. 4. Sediment sampling and treatment: the midstream buoy method is adopted for sediment sampling at the flow measurement section. The number of sediment sampling depends on the number of flood water level changes. The sampling times are increased to control the change of sediment concentration during flood peak. The sample was treated by displacement method.
Manual observation is carried out by professional and technical personnel; four levels of manual verification are carried out in the process of data input, which are tabulation, initial calibration, re calibration and audit, so as to ensure the data quality.
