On the afternoon of June 21, the National Cryosphere Desert Data Center(hereinafter referred to as the "Data Center") held the "National Data Center and field station network" co-construction symposium, inviting the Northwest Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the head of the field station and the relevant staff of the data center a total of more than 40 people to attend. The meeting was presided over by Chen Tuo, Director of the Northwest Institute of Eco-Environment and Resources, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and delivered a speech. Zhang Yaonan, director of the National Cryosphere Desert Data Center, introduced the basic situation of the data center, the ability to provide service and support for the field stations, and summarized the work and contribution of 21 field stations in the exchange of scientific and technological resources. I would like to express my gratitude to the field station colleagues for their strong support of the data center.
The discussion focused on how to carry out the next generation network environment construction of field stations, data transmission, data convergence, data sharing, and data security work. The participating teachers fully affirmed the achievements of the National Cryosphere Desert Data Center in data convergence and sharing of field stations and observation data network transmission in the past two years. The need to optimize the network environment of field stations and extend the network to field observation sites and test sites is put forward. In particular, it is hoped that data centers can use the latest technology to solve the data transmission problem caused by the lack of current network environment. The participants discussed the working ideas, implementation methods and operational measures of the field station data center construction. After understanding the system and application demonstration established by the data center in the field station data storage and management, the field station leaders proposed the construction of a visualization scientific data management platform to systematically display the data elements of the field station observation network of our hospital. It is suggested that the data center build a cloud-based data management and display system for each field station. The meeting also discussed the needs of optimizing data sharing policies, standardizing data collection processes, improving data content, and building websites of each station. The person in charge of each field station put forward suggestions on how to further improve the data delivery scheme, the reference standard of data sharing and the feedback of data application output. The leaders of the field stations actively responded to the initiative of jointly planning international cooperation and exchange of scientific data, expanding the influence of station data in field research, and providing scientific data sharing platforms for researchers.
In the next step, the data center will study and discuss the suggestions put forward by this discussion, continue to give full play to the platform and technical advantages of the national data center in data exchange and observation data network transmission, further improve the level of scientific data collection, transmission and sharing of field stations, and provide technical services for the routine observation data transmission of the current stations. Strengthen the data collection and management capabilities of field stations, and provide a feasible plan for the cooperation and common development of field stations and scientific data centers.
In view of the problems encountered in the process of data sharing, based on the basic principle of fully protecting the rights and interests of data producers, the data center will distinguish the management and sharing strategies of conventional data, characteristic data and unique data by setting the data protection period, clarifying the data user portrait and restricting the way of data use, so as to break the restrictions of data sharing and fully tap the value of data. Achieve a mutually beneficial working model for data producers, users and sharing platforms.
