HiDEM (Helsinki Discrete Element Model) is a glacier collapse simulation model based on the discrete element method, designed specifically to simulate the fracture and collapse process of oceanic terminating glaciers. This model achieves its goals through the following functions: • Simulate the fracture and disintegration process of the ocean terminating the front end of glaciers • Discretize the front end of the glacier into a large number of particles • Detailed capture of the dynamic processes of ice fracture and disintegration • Estimate glacier disintegration rate • Analyze the process of iceberg formation and propagation
