VEGETATION sensor sponsored by the European Commission was launched by SPOT-4 in March 1998. Since April 1998, it has received SPOTVGT data for global vegetation coverage monitoring. This data is received by Kiruna ground station in Sweden. The image quality monitoring center in Toulouse, France is responsible for image quality and provides relevant parameters (such as calibration coefficient), The VEGETATION Image Processing Centre (CTIV) of the Flemish Institute for Technical Research (Vito) in Belgium is ultimately responsible for preprocessing the daily 1km global data. Pre processing includes atmospheric correction, radiation correction, geometric correction, and production of 10 day maximum synthesized NDVI data, with values ranging from -1 to -0.1 set to -0.1, and then converted to DN values ranging from 0 to 250 using the formula DN=(NDVI+0.1)/0.004. This dataset is extracted from a subset of China and contains spectra of four bands synthesized every 10 days. SPOT Vegetation (VGT) data from the vegetation data website of the VITO Institute in Belgium( http://free.vgt.vito.be )Download, including the following content:
Spot Vegetation NDVI data and 4 band data, synthesized at maximum in 10 days, with a spatial resolution of 1km and an effective time of 1998-2008. The data naming convention is coverage range+product type+Year+Month+Day
Spot Vegetation BRDF data, synthesized at a maximum of 10 days, with a spatial resolution of 8km and an effective time from 2001 to 2008. The data naming convention is coverage+product type+Year+Month+Day
Spot Vegetation NPP data, synthesized at a maximum of 10 days, with a spatial resolution of 8km and an effective time of 1998-2006. The data naming convention is "HeiHe NPP_VGT"+[1 or 2]+[year+month+day]
