Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region covers a total area of 1.66 million square kilometers. The autonomous region includes 23 cities, 7 regions, 5 autonomous prefectures, 68 counties and autonomous counties, with Urumqi as its capital. Xinjiang is adjacent to Tibet, Gansu and Qinghai. The data can be divided into two layers according to the element content: the county boundary of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and the provincial boundary of Xinjiang.
It is based on the administrative division map of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region published in 2008 and combined with the administrative division map of the people's Republic of China (1:4 million).

Referring to the administrative district map of the people's Republic of China (1:4 million), using arc / Info software to manually vectorize the administrative district map of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, mark the attribute data according to the attributes in the original map, and then use the longitude and latitude coordinates in the map as the control points for map re projection, select WGS84 projection, longitude and latitude coordinates.
This data is processed by Xinjiang Institute of ecology and geography, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and vectorized by professionals. The error is controlled within 2 pixels, which ensures that the vectorized boundary is completely consistent with the boundary of topographic map, and the data accuracy is as high as 99%.
