On June 2, 2023, the 2021-2022 annual summary meeting of the National Cryosphere Desert Data Center, the third Expert Committee and the launch meeting of the National Cryosphere Desert Data Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences were held in Tianshui, Gansu Province in an "offline + online" manner. On the morning of the 2nd, the 2021-2022 annual summary meeting of the National Cryosphere Desert Data Center and the launch meeting of the Chinese Academy of Sciences' Data Center for Cryospheer Desert Science were held. The meeting was presided over by Vice President Kang Shichang and Academician Qin Dahe. At the meeting, Deputy Secretary Wang Ping introduced the guests and delivered a welcome speech, thanking the Ministry of Science and Technology, the National Basic Conditions Platform Center, the Network Information Office of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the Provincial Science and Technology Department for their strong support of the National Data Center for Glacier and Permafrost Desert Science. Academician Qin Dahe gave a guidance speech as the director of the expert committee, Deputy Director Zhu Xueyan, Deputy Director Wang Ruidan, Deputy director Yang Xu guided the speech, and Deputy Director Yang Xu read the identification document of the Scientific Data Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Deputy Secretary Wang Ping and Deputy Director Yang Xu jointly unveiled the Chinese Academy of Sciences Glacier and Permafrost Desert Science Data center.

Zhang Yaonan, director of the National Cryosphere Desert Data Center, made the general report of the 2021-2022 Annual Summary Report of the National Cryosphere Desert Data Center, and Kang Jianfang, senior engineer of the Center, and Min Yufang, senior engineer of the Center, respectively made sub-reports on the construction of Scientific Data Center System in Gansu Province and the Practice of Data Economy Enabled by Scientific Data.

The participating experts fully affirmed the achievements of the National Science Data Center for Glacier and Permafrost Desert in the past two years, which has been greatly improved in data center construction, data resource expansion, model method improvement, data analysis and mining, international cooperation and exchange, and at the same time, it has standardized the data sharing system, prepared key data products combined with the characteristics of the field, and built brand data services. Suggestions were put forward to support disaster prevention and reduction work, help the development of digital economy, and form an international data sharing platform. The Center will carefully study and fully absorb expert opinions, continue to play the role of the national team, provide typical experience for further improving the level of scientific data governance and utilization, create a model for further strengthening the capacity building and upgrading of national scientific data centers, and strengthen the systematic construction and integration services of scientific data resources and other types of scientific and technological basic condition resources. And promote the collaborative cooperation and integrated development of scientific data centers and other types of scientific and technological basic conditions platforms to provide useful reference for the implementation of the General Secretary's task of deploying new scientific research information basic platforms in advance.

During the meeting, a total of 12 awards including Data Sharing Excellence Award, Data Contribution Excellence Award, Station Data Exchange Excellence Award and data co-construction unit Excellence Award were awarded to the teams and individuals who made outstanding contributions in 2021-2022.

On the afternoon of the 2nd, academicians, leaders, experts and invited representatives went to the Data Engineering Application Center of the National Glacier and Permafrost Desert Science Data Center for research, and held a data construction consultation meeting of the Yellow River Basin Scientific Data Open and Sharing Alliance. At the meeting, the academicians and experts put forward constructive opinions on the next work focus and future development direction of the Data Engineering Application Center and the Yellow River Basin Scientific Data Open Sharing Alliance through field research and discussion.
