The data set is 1:700000 land cover data of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region in Northwest China in 2005. This data adopts a hierarchical land cover classification system. The first class of the classification system is consistent with the IPCC system, with a total of 6 categories (woodland, grassland, wetland, cultivated land, artificial surface, others), and the second class uses 38 types with global unified code generated by the LCCs of FAO.

The main data sources are: 1. Land use data in 2005; 2. Landsat fine correction of false color composite images of counties in the same period with land use data; 3. Auxiliary data include 1:500000 grassland resource map (vector), 1:1 million soil type map (vector), 1:1 million vegetation type map (scanning)
Based on ecognition software platform, object-oriented classification method is adopted
