From December 2004 to January 2005, sea ice thickness was measured in Zhongshan Bay and Neila Bay, Antarctica, using ice drill and resistance wire ice thickness measuring device. This data set is the sea ice thickness data of China's 21st Antarctic expedition from 2004 to 2005. Sea ice is a mixture of fresh water ice crystals, brine and salt containing bubbles, including fresh water ice (glaciers and river ice) from the mainland and salt water ice directly frozen by sea water. Generalized sea ice also includes river ice and iceberg in the ocean.
