Planktonic bacteria are an important component of marine ecosystems. We conducted a survey on the composition of surface planktonic bacterial communities at 10 stations near the Great Wall Station, including the Great Wall Bay and Adelaide Bay, in December 2011. The results showed that the dominant groups were Bacteroidetes, Alphaproteobacteria, and Gammaproteobacteria. The sequence data can be opened using Mega 5.05
