This data set aims at the area of friendship peak in Altai mountain, including glaciers and surrounding areas in the area of friendship peak in Altai mountain. Using DEM from topographic map, SRTM (2000) and DEM extracted from remote sensing image, the elevation change of glacial surface in the center of glaciation can be obtained through difference calculation. Only for the elevation change of glacier surface in Youyi peak area of Altai mountain from 1959 to 2008, it is not supplemented and improved, and it is fully open sharing. The dataset contains two files, elevationchange1959-2000 and elevationchange2000-2008. The unit of measurement of the field is meter (m). The data set mainly includes remote sensing image extraction data, which only represents the glacier surface elevation change at the acquisition time of remote sensing image. The time is 1959-2000 and 2000-2008. The data collected in this data set are mainly from the area of friendship peak in Altai mountain, including glaciers and surrounding areas.

This data set is mainly interpretation data, and the main data sources are topographic map DEM, SRTM (2000) and remote sensing image DEM.
Using DEM from topographic map, SRTM (2000) and remote sensing image, the elevation change of glacier surface in the center of glaciation was obtained by difference calculation.
After the accuracy test of DEM in different periods, the cosine relationship between slope direction and elevation difference is used for plane and elevation correction; then the relationship between maximum curvature and elevation difference is used to reduce the error caused by different resolutions, and the registration and relative accuracy evaluation of DEM in two periods are carried out to obtain the elevation change of glacier in different periods
