The Yellow River is the second longest river in China, and the sediment problem of the Yellow River has attracted the attention of people all over the world. River Basin is an important natural unit. Taking srtm-dem and aster-gedem data sets as data sources, the upper Yellow River basin boundary is extracted by using the method of river channel burning and river channel scalar method under the ArcGIS software platform, and the whole upper Yellow River basin boundary from the source area of the Yellow River to Hekou town is obtained.
The map is stored in ArcGIS,. SHP file. The drainage basin borders Qinghai, Sichuan, Gansu, Ningxia and Inner Mongolia, with a total area of 55.06 × 104 km2.
Watershed boundary is an important natural unit in the study of hydrology, soil erosion and non-point source pollution.

Srtm-dem and aster-gdem released in the United States
Taking srtm-dem and aster-gdem issued by the United States as data sources, the upper Yellow River basin boundary is extracted by using the method of river burning and river scalar method under the ArcGIS software platform.
Because the gradient from sanhuhekou to Hekou town is very small, there is a certain error in the basin boundary.
