Datasets description

  Baotou meteorological station is located in Baotou City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. The geographical coordinates are 109.53 ° east longitude, 40.32 ° north latitude, and the altitude of the site is 1078m. The observation items include temperature, rainfall, humidity, wind speed, freezing, etc. This data set is the daily average temperature observation data of Baotou meteorological station during the ice flood season from 1954 to 2018. Through statistical analysis, the cumulative negative temperature of the station over the years is calculated. This data set contains an excel file with two columns, one is the year and the other is the cumulative negative temperature of the year.

Data source description

  The data in this data set are all the data from the observation data of the meteorological station after statistical analysis and calculation. The temperature data are observed in strict accordance with the requirements of the ground meteorological observation specifications of the National Meteorological Administration. The observation time is 2:00, 8:00, 14:00 and 20 days every day; The surface temperature is observed with the highest and lowest temperature meters on the ground, and the soil temperature is observed with the curved tube and straight tube geothermal meters; The daily temperature data of the source data comes from the Meteorological Statistical Yearbook published every year and is purchased from Baotou Meteorological Bureau.

Data processing method

  Cumulative negative temperature is an important indicator of climatic conditions. Generally, the smaller the cumulative negative temperature is, the colder it is. The calculation method is: the daily average negative air temperature is accumulated day by day from the time when the temperature turns negative to the end when the temperature turns positive in the ice flood season.

Data quality description

  The daily temperature data is measured by the professionals of the meteorological station and officially published after verification and compilation. The cumulative negative temperature calculation is calculated by professional technicians and adopted after verification and review.
