Based on the cloud free image data of Landsat in the historical period and the data of the first and second glaciers cataloguing, the vector data of glaciers in Qaidam Basin in 2015 were obtained by manual correction using visual interpretation. Through area statistics, the glacier area of the basin glaciers in various periods is obtained, and the distribution map of glaciers in 2015 is drawn by using the modified vector layer.
This data set is mainly applied to the scientific research of Cryosphere.

Landsat historical cloud free image data.
In envi software, the band ratio method is used and the threshold is set to obtain the binary image. The binary image is converted into a glacier boundary vector file, and the automatic extraction result is obtained. In ArcGIS software, the boundary is manually corrected by combining visual interpretation.
a. Accuracy of original data
Landsat5 TM sensor has a total of 7 bands, covering different wavelength ranges from infrared to visible light. The spatial resolution is 30m and 120m. The revisit period is 16 days and the scanning width is 185km.
(1) Data production process: Landsat 5 Collection1 products include level 1 accurate and topographic (l1tp) correction data, which have well characterized radiometric measurements and are mutually calibrated between different Landsat instruments. The geographical registration of the first layer scene is consistent and ≤ 12m radial root mean square error (RMSE) within the specified image image tolerance.

When processing the generated data, keep all the original data.
