This global terrestrial evapotranspiration is derived from the calibration-free complementary relationship model. It uses spatial-temporally dynamic alpha values for each grid at each time step. The forcing includes air temperature, humidity, and wind speed from ERA5, and Rn from GLDAS v2.1 (Note that GLDAS 2.1 does not have data in Antarctic, the ERA5 Rn is therefore used for Antarctic). It is at 0.25° and has a monthly temporal resolution. Refer to Ma et al. (2021) for details

1. Air temperature, humidity, and wind speed data: ERA5;
2. Net radiation data: GLDAS V2.1 (except Antarctic still from ERA5).
Unlike the previous Version 1.0 of ET product covering 1982-2016 released in 2021, the Version 2.0 has mainly two differences with Version 1.0:
1) Version 2.0 is driven by GLDAS 2.1 Rn (with correction against CERES Rn) and ERA5 air and dew temperature and wind speed. Note that GLDAS 2.1 does not have data in Antarctic, the ERA5 Rn is therefore used for Antarctic.
2) Version 2.0 uses the latest method by Szilagyi and Crago (2023) to derive the spatial-temporally dynamic alpha values for each grid at each time step, unlike previsou versions using a spatial-temporal constant alpha.
For users who are interested in ET during the post-2000 period, the Version 2.0 is highly suggested. However, it is NOT suggested to combine the previous Version 1.0 data with Version 2.0 data for a longer temporal coverage since they are driven by different climate forcings and by different parameters.
Data quality is good.
