Dongchuan Station, founded in 1961, is located in Jiangjiagou, Lvmao Township, Dongchuan District, Yunnan Province. Dongchuan Station is a debris flow observation Research station with the longest observation history, the most complete observation projects, and the most complete observation experimental equipment and infrastructure in the world. Since the establishment of Dongchuan Station, the longest observation data series has been over 50 years, laying the foundation of China's debris flow discipline. In terms of debris flow disaster reduction theory and technology, a comprehensive disaster reduction model for different objects has been established, making irreplaceable and outstanding contributions to China's debris flow disaster reduction. The positioning of Dongchuan Station is to study the formation mechanism, dynamic model, material transport and geomorphic response of debris flow, as well as the development law and disaster formation mechanism under abnormal geological events and extreme climate in the whole process of debris flow disaster and the key scientific issues in mutual feedback with the environment, facing the disaster reduction needs of national Megaproject and earthquake stricken areas, taking the southwest mountainous area as the main research area, Explore the principles and optimization measures for comprehensive regulation of debris flow geotechnical and Ecological engineering, and develop reliable risk assessment, monitoring, early warning and reporting technologies for debris flow. Meet the urgent needs of national Megaproject for safety and regional disaster reduction, and provide strong scientific and technological support for population and public safety in mountain areas and sustainable socio-economic development.
