<p>This data set is based on the Atlas of Soil Species in Inner Mongolia, China, published by China Agricultural Publishing House in 1993. The original data and information of 245 soil species in the book, such as distribution area, morphological characteristics, physical and chemical properties, production performance, are standardized, structured and digitized. The processing integration takes the soil type ID and name as the associated index, which can be developed into 7 professional subject data tables and 1 attached table for online query, including the soil type classification basis, classification distribution, basic feature description, typical profile sampling location and occurrence layer information, typical profile physical and chemical prime data, etc. This data set can provide data support for regional land resources, soil fertility assessment and soil carbon and nitrogen research, and is of great significance for the promotion of new agricultural technologies and the rational use of soil resources.

<p>The data source of this data set is the paper edition of Inner Mongolia Soil Species Annals, which was officially published on the Internet. It was published by China Agricultural Publishing House in 1993. Based on the summary of the second soil survey in the autonomous region and the data of the league (city), the data was evaluated, compared, and integrated. After systematic sorting, it was carried out in accordance with the requirements of the National Soil Survey Office for the compilation of soil species annals. On the basis of the existing data, After strict screening, 245 soil species were compiled. Based on scientific data, each soil type describes the distribution area, morphological characteristics, physical and chemical properties, production performance and barrier factors, and puts forward feasible utilization direction and improvement measures. The compilation and publication of soil species records provides systematic, standardized and quantitative data for the establishment of soil basic classification units in Inner Mongolia, and provides basic data for the development of soil classification science in China. Therefore, the "Inner Mongolia Soil Records" is a guide book for agricultural departments, especially farmers, to carry out agricultural production and scientific utilization, and also an important reference material for scientific research and teaching by relevant departments.
This data set is based on the paper version of the Inner Mongolia Soil Species Records as the data source: (1) scan the whole book to form a PDF version of the e-book. According to the professional background, use the character recognition technology to identify the text and numbers in the book, and generate editable text; (2) After fully understanding and learning the contents of the monograph, design the data table and its field name. Then de-noise and normalize the corresponding data and content, extract and fill in the table, and form multiple tables with primary key association to form the data set; (3) On the basis of fully reading and understanding the contents of the monograph, according to the professional background and logic, design the field name and data table structure that can contain and completely express the soil type information and related contents, and establish the associated index items between the data tables; (4) Input the identified and proofread information content into the designed corresponding cell, and build a data table set that can be developed for online retrieval and query; (5) After data entry, check and correct the data one by one, carry out data quality control, and prepare data set description documents.
On the basis of thorough reading and professional understanding of the Soil Species Records of Inner Mongolia, China, the data table and its field names and data table structure are designed according to the research logic of soil science. The paper version is electronically scanned and automatically identified. After the data is extracted into the data table, it is checked and corrected three times one by one. Finally, after other manual spot checks are correct, the uploaded data set is formed to ensure the integrity, consistency and availability of the data. In the process of data extraction, the units of some indicators are also converted according to the norms of legal measurement units; The names of counties and cities have been commented in old style.
