This data set is based on Gansu soil records published by Gansu science and Technology Press in 1992. According to the contents contained in the data set of Gansu soil records and for the convenience of online query, the soil ID is established as the primary key and designed as 8 sheets. They are Gansu soil classification, distribution and characteristics of main soil types in Gansu, basic information of soil species in Gansu, landscape information of typical profile of soil species in Gansu, occurrence layer information of typical profile in Gansu, physical and chemical properties of typical profile in Gansu, physical and chemical properties information of statistical profile of soil species in Gansu and geomorphic characteristics of Gansu Province, These data mainly describe the systematic classification of 305 soils in Gansu, the basic characteristic information of soil species, geographical distribution, the collection site information of typical profiles, the occurrence layer characteristics of typical profiles and the physical and chemical properties of profile soils, etc. It can be widely used in regional land quality assessment, environmental effect research and soil carbon storage research, so as to provide meaningful scientific support for the rational use of soil resources

The data source of this data set is Gansu soil species annals, which was published by Gansu science and Technology Press in 1992. Based on systematically sorting out the data of 879 soil species at the provincial (prefecture, city) and county levels, this data set is compiled by combing and summarizing 37 soil categories, 100 subcategories, 171 soil genera and 305 soil species. It is one of the series achievements of the second national soil survey in Gansu Province. The book introduces the name, attribution, distribution, area, main properties, typical profile, production performance summary and physical and chemical analysis data of main soil species in Gansu in the soil classification system. In the process of compiling, because some soil species data are still insufficient, there are only 285 written words, of which 4 are still incomplete after review, and the appendix is attached. The establishment of Gansu soil chronicles accumulates data for the systematization, standardization and quantification of Gansu soil classification, and lays a solid foundation for the development of Gansu soil science p>
& emsp; Based on Gansu soil species annals, this data set collects and extracts all the original data and information of 285 soil species in the book in a standardized, structured and digital manner. After sorting and processing, it is integrated into 8 professional subject data tables, including soil classification and attribution distribution of soil species, distribution and characteristics of main soil types, basic information and distribution of soil species Typical profile sampling site and occurrence layer information, typical profile and soil type profile statistical physical and chemical properties and other data. The soil type ID is the primary key between each data table, which is convenient for development as an online retrieval and query mode. This data set can be widely used in regional land quality assessment, environmental effect research, soil carbon storage research, etc., and provide significant scientific support for the promotion of new agricultural technologies and the rational utilization of soil resources p>
<pre><code> <p>&emsp; The steps of data collection of Gansu local chronicles are as follows: (1) purchase the officially published paper books of Gansu local chronicles; (2) Data electronic informatization, page by page scanning and image processing of books, generating PDF e-books of Gansu local chronicles, and using network character recognition technology to identify the text and numbers in the book and generate editable text; (3) On the basis of fully reading and understanding the contents of the monograph, according to the professional background and logic, design the field name and data table structure that can contain and completely express the soil species information and related contents, and establish the associated primary key of the data table; (4) Input the identified and proofread information content into the designed corresponding cells, and finally generate a data table set with soil type ID as the primary key to facilitate the development of online retrieval and query. (5) After data entry, check and correct one by one, and prepare the data set description document</ p>

Based on the full reading and understanding of Gansu soil records, the field name and data table structure of extracted data are designed according to the data logic of soil discipline. After data entry, check and correct the data one by one for three times, and finally conduct manual spot check to ensure the integrity and consistency of the paper version and electronic version of the data. In the process of data extraction, recheck each data field, unit and value, and correct the electronic data unit of the paper version according to the specification of the legal unit of measurement; The names of counties and cities were amended. Integrate into data tables with internal logical associations, and write data set description documents at the same time p>
