This data set is the precipitation observation data of Jiuyuangou watershed from 1980 to 1990. Jiuyuangou watershed, located in Suide County, Yulin City, Shaanxi Province, is a tributary of Wuding River. There are 9 rainfall stations in Jiuyuangou watershed, including Goukou, maliangou, zhaojiadi, wujiapan, weijiayan, heijiadi, wangjiadi, wangmaozhuang and Caijiagou. Dsj2 siphon rain gauge and SM1 ordinary rain gauge with diameter of 20cm are used for parallel observation. When the self recording rain gauge fails, ordinary rain gauge is used instead. The data include station network layout map, daily precipitation scale, precipitation extract table and maximum precipitation table of each period (1). The basic information of rainfall stations in Jiuyuangou basin is detailed in the description of Jiuyuangou basin from 1980 to 1990.

Instrument continuous observation
Precipitation observation instruments include SM1 ordinary rain gauge with a diameter of 20cm and dsj2 siphon type self recording rain gauge. The SM1 type adopts the 8-hour and 20-hour two-stage system for annual observation, mainly observing the starting and ending time of precipitation, and making statistics of precipitation. When the intermittent time of precipitation is more than 15 minutes, it is observed as two precipitation before and after the interval, and when the intermittent time is less than 15 minutes, it is recorded as one precipitation observation. If a precipitation crosses 8 hours and 20 hours, it should be measured at 8 hours and 20 hours. Dsj2 type adopts 24 section system for flood season observation. In case of failure of self recording rain gauge, the observation data of ordinary rain gauge is used for supplement.
In the process of observation, when there is an abnormal value in the self recording rain gauge, the observation value of the ordinary rain gauge is used for interpolation and verification; in the process of data entry, there are four levels of manual verification, which are tabulation, primary calibration, recalibration and audit, to ensure the data quality.
