The regions of the Yellow River Basin included in this dataset are: Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region (Baotou City), Sichuan Province (Aba Qiang Autonomous Prefecture), Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region (Yinchuan City, Shizuishan City, Wuzhong City), Shandong Province (Jinan City, Jining City, Liaocheng City, Dongying City), Shanxi Province (Linfen City, Yuncheng City, Luliang City, Taiyuan City, Xinzhou City), Henan Province (Luoyang City, Jiyuan City, Sanmenxia City, Jiaozuo City, Zhengzhou City, Puyang City), Gansu Province (Linxia Hui Autonomous Prefecture, Lanzhou City), Shaanxi Province (Weinan City, Yan'an City, Yulin City), Qinghai Province (Haidong City).
As of 2019, there were a total of 142 scenic spots at various levels within the Yellow River Basin.
